There’s no better time than now. That’s what I said to myself a few months back when I decided to start ACS Home Accents. I had talked about doing it for so long, I figured I’d better get started before I get too old — yes, I’m not too far from that age where sitting in a rocking chair gives me pains like I just rode a roller coaster. So today, April 6, 2020, I’m thrilled to announce that I officially launched my retail site; however, with that excitement comes a little trepidation amid the coronavirus outbreak.
This dreadful virus continues to spread around the world, and it’s getting increasingly more severe here in the US. Businesses are closing, not opening. Employers are laying off employees. There is a turbulence in the stock market and instability in global economies like we’ve never seen. And there’s a constant reminder of the grimness in the barrage of headlines, news, and alerts. Not a day goes by that I don’t tear up and feel a deep sadness for those that are suffering with the disease, for families dealing with their losses, and for all of us who must endure an altered way of life during these difficult times. I know you know what I’m talking about because you’re dealing with this, too.
Like me, you may be asking yourself, “is this really the best time to launch a site?” Well, here’s how I chose to see it.
While this virus has caused massive disruption to our lives, I will not let it destroy my dreams or tamper my ambitions. I will not wait for it to go away to enjoy all the opportunities life has to offer. I will not focus on the bleakness of this tragedy and the things in our society that are breaking because of it. Instead, I will concentrate on finding the good in our new, toilet-paper-rationed reality and move forward with my dreams. I invite you to do the same and join me on my journey.
As the country continues to grapple with coronavirus, I will be equally vigilant in maintaining social distance and keeping a positive outlook for the future. And the only way I can see to move forward with my new endeavor is to continue my efforts to offer creative ideas and introduce innovative products for your home.
